The Employee Visa (also known as a Spanish Work Visa) is for those ages 16+ who have been offered a job to work in Spain.

Applications must be submitted at least 90 days before the start date of the contract.

The following must apply to your work contract:

  • At least 1 year long
  • 40 hours per week
  • Pays minimum wage or above
  • Bring your dependents

What are the benefits of the Employee Visa?

  • If you are working in Spain for less than 90 days, a visa is not needed
  • You can stay in Spain for as long as your visa status
  • After 5 years you can apply for permanent residence
  • Free Schengen Zone travel

What are the financial requirements to be eligible for a Self-Employed Visa?

Your job must pay at least minimum wage, which as of 2023 is €1,080 per month.

Yes, you can bring your spouse, dependent children or your parents if you are under 18.


Core documents such as birth, marriage, ACRO and medical certificates must be translated.
