Document preparation for Spanish visas.

Services we offer

We offer several services regarding the preparation of documents for Spanish visa applications. This includes:

  • Notarisation
  • Legalisation (must come after notarisation)
  • Sworn translations

Our team has helped many clients over the years with a variety of documents, and they can help you as well.

Why do documents need to be prepared?

Anyone applying for a Spanish visa will need the aforementioned services to ensure a successful Spanish visa application.

Documents that have not been prepared in accordance with the requirements established by the Spanish authorities will likely have their application rejected.

The processes of notarisation and legalisation prove that your documents are valid and show the Spanish authorities that your documents have been checked by a registered legal professional.

Finally, sworn translations are needed as the Spanish authorities will only accept documents that have been translated into Spanish.

What documents need to be prepared?

There are many different types of documents that you may need to get prepared, with some depending on what you are going to Spain to do. For example, if you are wanting to study in Spain, you will need to provide relevant past academic achievements, such as degrees or transcripts.

The following is a list of some of the documents we often deal with:

  • ACRO Criminal Background Checks
  • Birth Certificates (only require legalisation, not notarisation)
  • Degrees
  • Driving licences
  • Marriage Certificates (only require legalisation, not notarisation)
  • Passports
  • Powers of Attorney
  • Professional qualifications
  • Statutory Declarations

Depending on the visa you have applied for, there may be more. We can assist you with any other documents that need to be notarised and legalised.

Documents that we cannot prepare for you

Whilst we can prepare most documents, there are some that we cannot deal with. These are generally those that are needed for medical purposes.

For example, we do not deal with:

  • Medical Certificates
  • Proof of Medical Insurance

Our partners at ASSSA can assist you with getting Medical Insurance for when you go to Spain.

Notarisation

Due to our partnership with Woodcock Notary Public, we can offer you accessible notary services so that your documents can be notarised for use in Spain.

Your documents will be handled by experienced Notary Public of England and Wales, Nathan Woodcock. He has assisted countless clients with their needs, and he can help you as well.

As part of the notarisation process, Nathan will witness you signing your documents, sign it himself, then stamp and seal them.

Additionally, your notary appointment can take place at a suitable location of your choosing through the mobile notary service offered by Woodcock Notary Public. This means that your appointment can be at, for example, your home, office, a café, or somewhere else.

Legalisation

Once your documents have been notarised, they will need to be legalised. This process gives your document equal weight to documents produced in Spain, and verifies that the notary’s stamp and seal is legitimate.

As Spain is a part of the Hague Apostille Convention, they accept apostilles as a form of legalising documents. This is a relatively straightforward process that we can manage for you, as we are registered with the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO). The FCDO is the UK Government body that issues apostilles.

Sworn translations

To ensure that your documents meet all of the requirements, we can also assist you with sworn translations. We can do this due to our strong working relationship with Certified Sworn Translators.

Both the original English version of your documents and the Spanish translation will need to be notarised and legalised.

As a result of this working relationship, we can get your documents translated faster than other companies, so your documents will be ready quicker. Then, you will be ready to go to Spain.
