The ACRO Premium Service is back for 2024

Learn about the return of the ACRO premium service, and how it can benefit you.
ACRO Premium Service

A few years ago, the UK Criminal Records Office offered two service options for its ACRO Police Certificate: standard and premium. Then, they got rid of the ACRO premium service.

However, they have recently reintroduced the premium ACRO, meaning that people can once again apply to get their ACRO Police Certificate much quicker than they previously could.

Read to the end to learn more about the ACRO premium service and how we can help you with it.

ACRO standard service versus the ACRO premium service

Essentially, the only real differences between the two types of service are the processing times and costs.

The standard service takes up to 20 working days, and is the cheaper option.

However, the premium service costs more, but it is much faster, as it only takes up to two working days to process.

Please note that processing times do not take into consideration how long it will take for your ACRO to be delivered to you.

What is an ACRO certificate used for?

Regardless of whether you use the premium ACRO service or the standard service, the certificate will always function in the same way.

The certificate is used as a way to show your criminal record, and is usually used when you are applying to get a visa for another country, or even emigrate. For example, if you want to get a visa for Spain, you will need to include an ACRO Police Certificate as one of the required documents for your application.

Please note that if you have a criminal record, regardless of how serious the offence was, your visa application will be unsuccessful. Trying to begin the application process if you have a criminal record will be a waste of your money and time, so you should just not apply.
